Green Banana Curry

Green banana is very common vegetable all over the world. It contains plenty of vitamins. Green banana recipe is well known as well as banana curry. Banana curry is very delicious. It is grown in plenty all over the world. It is used as medicine. People in the Indian sub-continent eat banana curry a lot. They grow it in their fields. You can cook green banana recipe in many ways. One them of its cooking process is given below;
 Ingredients:
  • 4 green bananas
  • 2 potatoes
  • 6 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
  • ¾ cup minced onion
  • ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 2 green chillies, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 2 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • salt to taste
 Method of preparation:
1. Peel and cube the potatoes. Boil in salt-water and drain.
2. Peel and slice the bananas ½ cm ( 1/4” ) thick. In a saucepan add 2 cups of water, ½     teaspoon salt and ¼ teaspoon turmeric.
3. Add the bananas and boil for three minutes. Drain water.
4. Fry the banana slices making both sides brow in 2 tablespoons of oil.
5. Heat rest of the oil in a frying pan. Put in the cumin seeds.
6. Add the onion, green chillies, turmeric, cinnamon, cardamom, and ½ cup of water. Stir      and fry until oil separate from the spices.
7. Add the potatoes, stir and fry 2 minutes. Add the bananas, salt, sugar and lemon juice.     Pour 1/2 cup of water. Cover and keep over low heat for 5 minutes.

 Serve hot with chapatti or boiled rice. Yields 6 servings.
