Aam Shotto

Aam shotto is a recipe which is prepared from green or ripe mangoes. Green mangoes are needed to prepare Aam shotto recipe. India and pakistan are famous for Aam shotto recipe. Pakistani Aam shotto is very tasty and delicious as well. In Bangladesh Aam Shotto is prepared in the rural areas. it is a seasonal recipe. Green mangoes are found in a definite season. Aam Shoto recipe is prepared at that time. Aam Shotto contains vitamin C and D. It is very nutritious. The preparation of Aam Shotto is very easy. Any one can prepare it. The method of preparation is here;
Ingredients:
1/2 kg green mangoes
1 tablespoon salt
1/2 kg sugar or molasses

Directions:
* Wash, peel and slice the mangoes. Boil in half cup water. Press through a strainer. Mix in sugar or molasses and boil till sugar dissolves and looks like jam. Remove from heat.
* Spread 1/2 cm (1/4") thin layer on a greased plain surface. Keep the tray under the sun (the tray can be covered with a very fine cotton cloth) regularly 3-4 days.
* Dry Aam shotto thoroughly turning over once or twice.
* Roll Aam Shotto. Put in a container keeping the cap loose.
